Vermiform Appendix

For practising the laparoscopic removal of the uniform appendix.

There are 3 variations of this model which present the appendix in the following positions:
- normal (as found in 32% of patiens);
- post-ileal (as found 1% of patient);
- retrocaecal (as found 64% of patiens).

Each model has the additional feature of a simulated peptic ulcer, for closure using peritoneum and mesentry.

- Excision and division of peritoneum.
- Identification and explosure of appendix.
- Mobilisation and division of vessels.
- Removal of appendix.
- Inspection of stump of appendix.
- Repair and closure of peptic ulcer.

Features:

- Highly realistic model of appendix, caecum, and ileum stump presented anatomically.
- The variations available in the range of appendices provide increased levels of difficulty.
- Convincing fluid filled vessels, caecum contents, and tissues encourage correct handling of tissue.
